cancer

Are there known causes of gastrointestinal tumors?
The first thing people fear when digestive problems appear is cancer. Although this disease is not the cause of the disorders in most cases, it is sometimes considered to be responsible. Some symptoms, such as bleeding, difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss and changes in bowel habits, may be warning signs of gastrointestinal cancer. Colorectal cancer is the most common case of digestive cancer, and the second responsible for cancer deaths in both men and women.

The possibility of curing digestive cancers is high if the case is detected and treated early, but the problem is that the symptoms of the case are very mild at the beginning and are not diagnosed until after the disease progresses. In addition, many people do not benefit from screening tests that help prevent colorectal cancer or detect it early.

Cancer is a collection of abnormal cells. As the cells grow, they collect into small nodes (tumors) that can compress nerves, block arteries, bleed, block the intestines, or obstruct the functioning of key organs. Some cancers grow slowly, taking years before they begin to threaten a patient’s life. Others are fast growing.

There is no definitive information about how normal cells turn into cancerous cells, and a combination of factors, including lifestyle, environment and genetic predisposition, may be responsible for this. Theories assume that most people have dormant genes that produce cancerous cells. These genes remain dormant until they are activated by an external factor, such as infection, sunlight, tobacco, or pollutants in food, drink, or air.

Cancer can occur in any area of the gastrointestinal tract, but most cancers with the toxins they contain, and there are several types of cancer, and most of them affect the digestive system, including:

glandular carcinomas; This is the name for cancers that begin in the tissues that line the internal organs. Most gastrointestinal cancers fall into this category.

lymphoma; These cancers form in the immune system, specifically in the lymph nodes. The body contains clusters of lymph nodes in the neck, chest, armpits, abdomen, and groin. Lymphatic tissue is also found in the intestines and in or near the heart of internal organs.

Sarcomas. These cancers begin in the connective tissue, ie in a muscle or bone, and there are smooth muscles throughout the gut.
