Dysphagia…may be accompanied by regurgitation of food into the airway, and sometimes patients experience frequent vomiting

The power of the Creator, Glory be to Him, is manifested when you meditate on His countless blessings upon you, and if we want to feel that through one of those blessings, which is the ability to continuously swallow food. You remain not fully understood because of the extreme accuracy required in terms of movement and timing, we thank God for the blessing, and to be aware of the importance of the matter, we touch on some cases that may lead to dysphagia and what are its causes and possible consequences in the future.

Dysphagia or difficulty swallowing is classified according to the affected part into (esophageal and pharyngeal) and may be due to a defect in the nerves or muscles surrounding the normal eating path.

It must be distinguished from two other cases, the hysterical bite (predominant in anxious people who feel a lump in the throat without an organic cause) and the second case is painful swallowing (the patient feels pain when swallowing and is usually caused by gastroesophageal reflux esophagitis or from Microbial inflammation of the esophagus.

Among the causes of dysphagia:

1 Cases when swallowing begins, such as: Neurological or muscular dysfunction of the tissues of the pharynx or the upper esophageal sphincter.

2 Cases after ingestion (during the passage of food into the esophagus), including: benign and malignant esophageal strictures or a disturbance in the esophageal harmonic movement (which is usually from top to bottom to direct food), and some of the medicines used may cause dysphagia, and there are cases due to abnormalities in the swallowing stream. Since birth, its effect did not appear until later, in addition to other causes, but they are less frequent.

The case may be accompanied by food reflux into the airway, and the patient will develop infections in the throat, sinuses, ears, acute and chronic lung infections, and the case may be accompanied by severe lack of appetite and weight, and the patient lacks the basic parts of food to build and maintain the body, and in some cases the patient is exposed to frequent vomiting and may It is accompanied by internal bleeding. When you feel (God forbid) that one of these symptoms coincides with difficulty swallowing, you must visit the doctor to check on him and make the necessary examinations and tests to ensure the appropriate treatment if necessary, and you are in good health.
