Scientists have discovered a new type of protein growth inhibitor that could help in the long-term treatment of patients infected with the hepatitis C virus. American scientists have found a molecule that can inhibit the growth of one of the proteins necessary for the reproduction of the C virus inside the human cell. The American researchers, under the supervision of Professor Nam Jun Chu from Stanford University, California, published the results of their study in the American Journal of Science Translational Medicine.<\/p>\n
The researchers believed that the successful treatment of hepatitis C requires a treatment of a mixture of several active substances against the virus, which is often chronic and causes hepatitis C, just as it is the case with acquired immunodeficiency virus (AIDS). The treatment of the virus so far is between 50 to 80%. Replication of HCV inside human cells requires a series of proteins.<\/p>\n
Indeed, over the past years, researchers have found substances that inhibit the growth of these proteins, but they have not yet succeeded in developing an effective substance worthy of obtaining a license for circulation in the treatment of this epidemic virus.<\/p>\n
